What do I get after a voice session?
Every answer is scored, and you get a full transcript of the session, with examiner-style feedback on each question. The breakdown appears in Results once the session ends.
Scores and readiness
After every voice session, Bridgedeck Study scores each answer and gives you the transcript to go back over. Session by session, those scores build into topic-by-topic mastery and an overall readiness score, tracked against your exam date. Here is what you get, what it means, and what is kept.

In the written drills and on the flashcards, each answer comes with an explanation and the regulation it comes from, so you can go to the source and check it rather than take the app's word for it.
You can go back over every answer in the transcript, with its feedback. There is no audio to replay: your voice is never stored, only the text transcript.
A score for each topic of your syllabus, built from your answers over time, so you can see where you are weak and what is already safe. When the app fills a topic drill, it prioritises your weakest sub-topics.
One overall score for how ready you look across your syllabus, shown with your mastery topic by topic and your progress against your booked exam date.
As we read it, it is a measure of your practice in the app, not an MCA assessment and not a prediction of your result. The MCA signs you off, not Bridgedeck.
Your voice sessions — mock orals and topic drills — and your written practice: Part A papers and the written topic drills. The free COLREGs drills are tracked separately and do not count towards readiness.
When you set up the app you give it your ticket and your exam date. It maps the syllabus to your qualification and the time you have left, and shows a countdown and your progress against that date.
No. Your voice is never stored: audio is processed in real time, and only the text transcript of the session is kept. Under our privacy policy, transcripts are kept for 90 days from the session or until 30 days after your exam date, whichever is later, and then deleted automatically.
Under our privacy policy, your progress data — topic mastery and readiness scores — is kept until you delete your account.
You can delete your account in the app at any time, under Profile, and the deletion cascades through your data. To get a copy of your sessions, transcripts and scores, ask us as the privacy policy explains.
OOW Unlimited (STCW II/1) and OOW Yachts under 3000 GT. The App Store listing names those two orals, and also describes the app as for cadets and crew working towards their first deck officer ticket.
Free, with no card: the COLREGs drills, the flashcards, and 15 minutes of voice practice with the AI examiner. Everything else — voice mock orals and topic drills beyond those 15 minutes, Part A practice and the written drills — needs a paid plan: one of the subscriptions, or the Exam Pack. The App Store listing sets out what each plan includes and what it costs.
No. Bridgedeck Study is on iOS only: the App Store listing says it runs on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch with iOS 13.0 or later. There is no Android version at the moment. On Android or a computer, the free COLREGs quiz on this site runs in your browser.
